Grim Fandango (1998) is a classic adventure game from Tim Schafer and LucasArts with a Day of the Dead theme and a film noir look. It is often cited as being one of the greatest adventure games of all time and is on many Top 100 game lists. As an Animator on this project, I was responsible for in-game and cinematic character animation, as well as modeling and rigging half the characters in the game. Here are a few of the many characters I modeled and rigged.
Grim Fandango Remastered(2015) is a remastered version of the original game. The remastered version featured hi-resolution backgrounds and textures, dynamic lighting, and a new user interface. As an Art Director I was responsible for re-lighting every scene to match the original game, re-designing the user interface for a new platform and new interactivity, and overseeing the production of new ui assets, icons and high resolution textures. Here are just a few of the scenes I re-lit and some of the UI screens I created for the Remastered Edition.
