Mark has 25 years of experience as an Animator, Artist, and Art Director in the video game industry, with nearly twenty titles shipped. His work can be seen in classic games such as Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, and Grim Fandango, all three of which were selected for inclusion in the Smithsonian's 2012 exhibit "The Art of Video Games." In 2018, he was the Art Director for an interactive, animated tv series for Netflix titled Minecraft: Story Mode

He is currently a tenured, full-time Animation Instructor at De Anza College, backed by a Bachelor of Arts in Animation, and a Master of Science in Education. He specializes in undergraduate-level studio courses in animation, including 2D and 3D animation, 3D modeling, animated film production, storyboarding, and pre-visualization.

In addition to his professional and teaching experience, Mark is also a painter who has shown in galleries in San Francisco and Southern California. Click here to see some of his recent paintings.In 2013 a book of his comic portraits was published by Oni Press under the title Snapshots (Oni Press, 2013), based on his web comic of the same name. Mark’s concept art for Brutal Legend can also be seen in The Art of Brutal Legend (Udon, 2013)

Besides his position at De Anza College, Mark has also been an Animation Instructor for Chabot College in Hayward, California, and an Affiliate Instructor & Mentor for the Interactive Media Department at Bradley University in Illinois.
